California: Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Hello from Palm Springs!!! One of the biggest attractions here is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway that takes people to elevation 2595 metres in 10 minutes. During the ascent we pass through several life zones ending in typical Alpine wilderness.

In the year 2000, the old cars were replaced by the new ones:

This rotating tram car takes you on top of Mt. Jacinto where you can find 54-miles of hiking trails and amazing views of the mountains and of the desert. Please join us on this short, 3-mile hike on top of the mountain. It is always a good idea to start with checking the weather conditions at the top of Mt. Jacinto:

The view of the Coachella Valley:

In ten minutes, we moved from Coachella Valley, a dry and windy desert to an Alpine forest still covered with snow. Look at the size of some of the trees:

Thank you Chandra for traveling with us and for this cute comment. We are having a very nice time. The weather is nice and there is sooooo much to see here. Some places we saw eight years ago with Mark and Ania. We often talk about that trip.
