Sri Lankan traditional village

Rice fields, banana trees and village houses:
Building a house:
The two ladies are preparing coconut rotis for our group:
Rotis are served on a palm leaf plate, covered with another leaf. They were served with coconut sambol to add more flavour.
Coconut shells were used to serve their special herbal tea:
While they were preparing rotis, we had a chance to see other presentations:
Here is their family and house:
When a baby is born, he or she receives the “third eye”, a black dot on his or her forehead to keep evil spirits away.
Most of their bathroom is under the sky, only the toilet gives you some privacy.

So cool! Great photos!
Did you get a chance to try a banana?
Thank you Katika for your comments and for checking the blog. It is fun to hear from you. I hope you are enjoying your summer. Bananas, yes I try them everyday. No monkey tried to enter my room. Have fun darling!
Another intersting trip Joanna.

Miss you,
Christina
