Ventura is a coastal town in California between Malibu and Santa Barbara. It is not a glamorous resort town like Palm Springs or elegant, rich town like Pasadena. Ventura is more modest and more authentic. Its biggest highlight is one of the 21 California Missions: San Buenaventura Mission built in 1782.

For both of us, visiting California Missions is a great pleasure because they are beautiful and filled with history of this region. Our goal is to see all of them. So far we have seen more than ten of them. They are national treasures and very well preserved.

The road connecting the missions is called El Camino Real and you can find bell markers like this one along the entire road.

They are very Spanish. Most of them have a little museum and all of them have a gift shop with many good books about these religious, architectural and cultural treasures.

We should not forget the founder of this mission Padre Junipero Serra.

    1. Tak bardzo mu smakowalo. Jemu zajmuje troche czasu aby sie przekonac do pewnych rzeczy. Ale potem jest szczesliwy.
