The island is very small, there are no cars, no roads on it.

Saint Honorat island is a haven of peace, freshness and serenity, surrounded by turquoise waters. It welcomes visitors with its medieval fortified monastery, old stone chapels, cannonball ovens scattered all over the island and the insular wildlife and flora.IMG_4088

For the last sixteen centuries, the island has been home to the monks of Lerins Abbey who live to the rythm of the community and monastic life, respecting the rule of Saint Benedict based on prayer (ora) and work (labora).
