Hello my dear blog readers! Today, I would like to invite you to the most important Buddhist celebration called Vesak. It takes place every year in May and commemorates the Buddha’s birthday, enlightenment and passing.

Several Buddhist communities in the Greater Toronto Area put together a very festive event in Mississauga’s Celebration Square. They were very lucky today because the weather was awesome. It all started with this unusual rainbow around the sun:

They took it as a sign from heaven.

The celebrations began with the parade:

This year, Vesak Day was a double celebration: the Buddha’s birthday and Canada’s 150 anniversary.
