St. Clement of Ohrid Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, Toronto
Hello my dear blog readers! I would like to invite you to visit another gorgeous Orthodox church in Toronto and meet the author of its frescoes. First lets look at the outside of this impressive building:
The construction of the church began in 1964 and was completed within one year, in 1965. It is the first Macedonian church in Canada and one of the oldest ones in North America.
Today, together with a group of my very close friends and family, I had a chance to meet the author of the amazing frescoes painted inside the church. He is welcoming, generous and charming. His name is Georgi Danevski.
First, we sat down at the table with Georgi. It was a real pleasure to listen to him talk with equal passion about his faith and about his love for art. What I find amazing about Georgi is his kindness; he treated all of us, coming from different parts of the world, as if we were his brothers and sisters. From the first moment, we felt some kind of a bond with him, not because of our interest in art but because of our belonging to the same faith, to the same human family. We were all impressed by his personality.
A personal tour of the church with the author of the paintings, what an honour!!!
Thank you Georgi for meeting with us and for making our visit to your church such an awesome experience.
God bless you and your family!
